The Imperials were left frustrated as their 20 over encounter with the Badger was prematurely curtailed by ground staff. Barn Elms Sport Centre officials announced the closing of the playing arena with 7.1 overs still to be bowled in the Badger's innings. However, with only four wickets in hand and more than twelve runs an over required, it was the Badgers who were let off the hook.

The Badger's bowling failed to put consistent pressure on the Imperials who batted with ruthless efficiency. All too often a string of four or five promising deliveries were followed by gentle full tosses or poor long hops which the Imperials batsmen put away at their leisure. Foord bowled well to pick up his three wickets and formed a useful partnership with Morse to keep the runs under control at the close of the innings.

The reply started in promising fashion with Thorpe and Morse working the ball around effectively and getting the scoreboard ticking. However, disaster struck when first Thorpe nicked one behind, then Morse skied another simple catch for the keeper, and Barker fell for a first ball duck to leave the Badger top order in disarray. Warman came to the wicket with positive intent, and for a few overs formed a partnership with Marchant which put the Imperials on the back-foot but the middle-order resistance was soon snuffed out by some intelligent bowling. Hirst chipped in with two boundaries including a text-book cover drive, but also lost her wicket before the game was brought to its premature end.
