Battersea Badgers made it two wins out of two in the short format of the game as they edged past LJCC on a damp, rainy and wet evening at Wandsworth Common. The victory was set up by the Dollimore-Foord axis of swingers, which accounted for six LJ wickets and restricted the opposition to just 103 all out.
In highly testing conditions, no batsman from either team made it to the magical ‘retire at 30’ mark but, thanks to the tight Badger bowling display, a scratchy teens score from most of the top order was all that was needed to bring home the bacon.
Occasional flourishes lit up the grey Wandsworth evening, including a Dollimore hat-trick ball and a Thomas thunderbastard of a 6 but this proved to be a fairly routine victory for the South London Badger Elite. The early finish even meant that a pub visit was fitted in before hometime. And on a school night too.
