The Badgers took themselves off to Croydon for the first game of the season in April and what a lovely time we had.
Batting first, some initial rustiness was calmed down by a J. Lee 50 and some Cornish hitty hitting. It was quite good. Spurred on by his parents' attendance and a deep desire to provide some children with a character forming lesson, he walloped 122 off 57.
Going in to field with 291 on the board always makes the job a bit easier and the Badgers surely , if not slightly too slowly, got through the wickets and overs. Cade nicking a five-fer and Dolli taking three.
Support came from a variety of Badger WAGS and senior Badgers popping in to say hello. The attendance of Jules minus a Fjoordy and their skip having a striking resemblance to him did make things a bit confusing.
We then had a superb time in the Addiscombe clubhouse as per last year, Ben's mum even taught me the best method for drinking from a jug.
