Fresh from their opening victory against Seveno, the Badgers were looking to build on their excellent start against new opposition, the London White Sox. The first struggle was getting a team out but 10 plucky Badgers were found (Hamblin and Hirst on debut) although this was down to 9 with Mackrell arriving 2 hours late due to a broken clutch cable on the Pea (a likely excuse). The second was the intermittent downpours meaning the game was shortened to 30 overs.

The Badgers won the toss (2 in 2) and the captain made an interesting choice to field first, notwithstanding he was missing his opening bowler.

The bowlers did a good job in slippy conditions with wickets from Dollimore, Cade, Mackrell and Mcluskey but the Sox had power to match similar to their baseball namesakes. Mentions in dispatches to Mcluskey for not being helped by his captain bringing him on at the end of the innings with the Sox opening their shoulders - the stats don't come close to showing how well he bowled. The Sox finished on 185-4.

Tea - a marvellous event and the Badgers out did themselves with special mention to Candice's pork buns.

And then to batting. A solid start by the openers, Cloke (21) setting the tone with some quick scoring. This was followed up by Warman (33) and a scintillating 37 off 24 balls from Shoney - check out his wagon wheel to see quite where those scoring shots are! The Badgers were on par at the half way point and accelerated with 10 overs to go. However losing wickets at in-opportune times stymied the rate and ultimately the Badgers chased too hard and were all out for 143.

Shone voted Badger of the Match for his quick scoring wagon wheel.
