The Battersea Badgers crossed Barnes Bridge Wednesday night for the second marauding of the season. A toss won saw the badgers head to the batting crease where an in form Robin Mackrell continued as he left off against the Plastics at the weekend with quick fire boundaries. T Rex supported but fell to a slow ball to bring Cornish into the attack who eased into his innings with 4 dots before hitting 30 from his next 5 balls. Jacques had picked up a few boundaries the previous over but fell to the final ball in that Cornish over that went 30-1. Kitching clipped his first ball for a soft catch at midwicket opening the doors to the retirement home with Nick, Jim and Isaac all settling into comfortable wipe-cleanable sofas for 25 each. The tail got off to a rough start with Captain Karl once again gifting his wicket to a 12 year old and Cade too top edging for single figures. Chairman Sam wagged with a swashbuckling 19 to support the returning batsmen as the Badgers posted 232 something from their 20.

With the sun fading owing to some indulgent fielding from the oppo, the Badgers took to the field with intent to get to the bar. Cade went for a few early doors but struck in his second. Sam removed everyone's favourite player shortly after. Jim removed poor 30-1 man with the slow ball to leave Marauders 3 down with one retired after 10. Karl came in and forced a man so far back in his crease he hit his own stumps before taking another 2 with loopy balls bowled and Lbw. Jacques joined in, Karl taking a nice catch low at short cover and another hooked down the legside into keeper Joe's gloves. Isaac and Cade finished things off leaving the Marauders 80 odd runs short at the close. Another dominant win for the badgers and a very economical match report to commemorate a very economical evening. Ben took BOTM for a bludgeoning 58 from very few balls and then drank 58 pints to celebrate. It's been a lovely run of form for the Badgers who look ahead to a Ploughman's lunch on Sunday.
